Our Garden

Outdoor Classroom

Monarch teachers and students have access to thoughtfully designed outdoor classroom.

Milkweed Habitat

Inspired and designed by third graders, this milkweed habitat brings awareness and education about the ever decreasing habitat for monarch butterflies.

The Monarch Grove Children’s Garden was created in 2005 by a group of parents who revamped an existing California native garden and constructed raised beds for vegetables and herbs on an unused portion of the school grounds. Over the past four years fruit trees have been planted, a garden shed purchased and a larger worm bin constructed, creating an outdoor classroom.

The Garden is supported financially by the PTA and generous donations from the community. The children have raised funds through plant sales and farmer’s markets. We currently maintain the garden through the support Garden Coordinators whom organize workdays and help facilitate students and teachers utilizing the Garden.
